Welcome

Prelude
~God Calls Us to Worship Him~
Call to Worship Revelation 4:9-11

Pastor: And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him Who is seated on the throne, Who lives forever and ever,

People: The twenty-four elders fall down before Him Who is seated on the throne and worship Him Who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne saying,

Unison: “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things and by your will they existed and were created.”

Hymn of Worship You’re the Lion of Judah by Robin Mark

You’re the Lion of Judah, the Lamb who was slain;
You ascended to Heaven and evermore will reign.
At the end of the age when the earth You reclaim,
You will gather the nations before You.
And the eyes of all men will be fixed on the Lamb
who was crucified.
With wisdom and mercy and justice You’ll reign
at Your Father’s side.

Chorus:

And the angels will cry —“Hail the Lamb —
Who was slain for the world — rule in pow’r,” —
And the earth will reply — “You shall reign —
As the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords.”

There’s a shield in our hand and a sword at our side;
There’s a fire in our spirits that cannot be denied.
As the Father has told us, for these You have died,
for the nations who gather before You.
And the ears of all men need to hear of the Lamb
who was crucified,
Who descended to hell, yet was raised up to reign
at His Father’s side. (Chorus Twice)

~God Renews Us in Christ~

We Corporately Confess Our Sins

We confess, dear Lord Jesus, that we have sinned, just like Eve and Adam in the Garden. By that act, we fell into sin and have been feeling the horror of that moral disaster ever since. We plead with You, dear Holy Spirit, to open our blind eyes to the misery of our fallen estate, and then to show us the GLORY that can be ours if we will only receive Jesus as our sin-bearing Savior. When unbelieving Jews received Him on the Day of Pentecost, the reasonable joys of eternal life took hold of them and began transforming them from “one degree of glory to another” for a lifetime. Dear Father in heaven, we ask you to work that awesome miracle of new birth within us so that we may celebrate your infinite love within your Temple of Grace forever and ever. Amen.

Sing this Song of the Redeemed: Isaiah 35:10

(Psalm 149:5 “Let them sing for joy on their beds”)

Therefore, the redeemed of the Lord
Shall return and come with singing unto Zion
And everlasting joy shall be upon their head
They shall obtain gladness and joy
And sorrow and mourning shall flee away (Repeat)

We Confess Our Faith: Larger Catechism #95

Leader: Of what use is the moral law to all men?

People: The moral law is of use to all men, to inform them of the holy nature and will of God, and of their duty to bind them to walk accordingly; to convince them of their disability to keep it and of the sinful pollution of their nature, hearts and lives: to humble them in the sense of their sin and misery and thereby help them to a clearer sight of the need they have of Christ and of the perfection of His obedience.
