Trinity Presbyterian Church
Sunday Service of Worship

Welcome

Prelude
~God Calls Us to Worship Him~
Call to Worship
Hebrews 10:19-25

Pastor
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,

Congregation
by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,

Pastor
and since we have a great priest over the house of God,

Congregation
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Pastor
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Congregation
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Hymn Praise the Savior Now and Ever (243)

Prayer of Worship

~God Renews Us in Christ~

We Corporately Confess Our Sin and Need
Merciful God, we confess to you our sins as a church. We have not loved you with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our might. We have questioned your love and faithfulness and have not been thankful, putting you to the test. We have not loved one another as Christ loved us. We have not forgiven one another as we have been forgiven. We have not given ourselves in love and service for the world as Christ obediently gave Himself for us. Father, forgive us. May your Holy Spirit empower us to put away all idolatry and falsehood and ungodly anger and live as by Your mercy you have called us to live. Through Jesus Christ our Crucified and Risen Lord and Savior and for His Glory. Amen.

We Silently Confess Our Sins

Song The Love of God (CCLI#251645)

The love of God is greater far | Than tongue or pen can ever tell; It goes beyond the highest star, | And reaches to the lowest hell; The guilty pair, bowed down with care, | God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled, | And pardoned from his sin.

Chorus: Oh, love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! | It shall forevermore endure— The saints’ and angels’ song.

When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; | Redeeming grace to Adam’s race—
The saints’ and angels’ song. Chorus:

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky. Chorus: 2xs

Pastor
What command and mission has Christ given to us until he returns?

Pastor
What promise has Christ given to empower us as we go?

Congregation
“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
