~God Calls Us to Worship Him~

Call to Worship

Pastor

Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live.

All

For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. For on the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”

Song Lamb of God (CCLI#251645)

Your only Son, no sin to hide,
But You have sent Him from Your side,
To walk upon this guilty sod, and to become the Lamb of God.

Chorus: O Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God,
I love the Holy Lamb of God! O wash me in His precious Blood,
My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.

Your gift of Love, they crucified,
They laughed and scorned Him as He died,
The humble King they named a fraud
And sacrificed the Lamb of God. Chorus

I was so lost, I should have died,
But You have brought me to Your side,
To be led by Your staff and rod,
And to be called a lamb of God. Chorus twice

Call to Repentance Romans 3:19-20

Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

We Corporately Confess Our Sins

Lord God, eternal and almighty Father: We acknowledge before your holy majesty that we are poor sinners, conceived and born in guilt and in corruption, prone to do evil, unable of our own power to do good. Because of our sin, we endlessly violate your holy commandments. But, O Lord, with heartfelt sorrow we repent and turn away from all our offenses. We condemn ourselves and our evil ways, with true sorrow asking that your grace will relieve our distress. Have compassion on us, most gracious God, Father of mercies, for the sake of your son Jesus Christ, our Lord. And in removing our guilt, also grant us daily increase of the grace of your Holy Spirit and produce in us the fruits of holiness and of righteousness pleasing in your sight: Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Sermon The Law Leads Us to Christ

~God Meets and Feeds Us at His Table~

Song Behold the Lamb (CCLI#251645)

Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away,
Slain for us — and we remember
The promise made that all who come in faith
Find forgiveness at the cross. So, we share in this bread of life,
And we drink of His sacrifice as a sign of our bonds of peace —
Around the table of the King.

The body of our Savior Jesus Christ,
Torn for you — eat and remember;
The wounds that heal, the death that brings us life
Paid the price to make us one. So, we share in this bread of life,
And we drink of His sacrifice as a sign of our bonds of love —
Around the table of the King.

The blood that cleanses every stain of sin,
Shed for you — drink and remember
He drained death's cup that all may enter in
To receive the life of God. So, we share in this bread of life,
And we drink of His sacrifice as a sign of our bonds of grace—
Around the table of the King.

And so, with thankfulness and faith, we rise
To respond — and to remember our call to follow in the steps of Christ
As His body here on earth. As we share in His suffering,
We proclaim Christ will come again!
And we’ll join in the feast of heaven — around the table of the King, —
Around the table of the King.

We Confess Our Faith Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. (*universal)

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
