Call to Worship

Come let us bless the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for us.

Song Christ Our Hope in Life and Death (CCLI#251645)

What is our hope in life and death? Christ alone, Christ alone.
What is our only confidence? That our souls to Him belong.
Who holds our days within His hand?
What comes, apart from His command?
And what will keep us to the end?
The love of Christ, in which we stand.

Chorus
O sing hallelujah! Our hope springs eternal; O sing hallelujah!
Now and ever we confess Christ our hope in life and death.

What truth can calm the troubled soul? God is good, God is good.
Where is His grace and goodness known?
In our great Redeemer’s blood.

Who holds our faith when fears arise?
Who stands above the stormy trial?
Who sends the waves that bring us nigh,

Unto the shore, the rock of Christ? Chorus
Unto the grave, what shall we sing?
“Christ, He lives; Christ, He lives!”
And what reward will heaven bring?
Everlasting life with Him.

There we will rise to meet the Lord,
Then sin and death will be destroyed,
And we will feast in endless joy,
When Christ is ours forevermore. Chorus

Now and ever we confess
Christ our hope in life and death.

Prayer of Worship

~God Renews Us in Christ~
Elder
I said, I will confess my sins before the LORD.
All
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

We Corporately Confess Our Sins
Lord Jesus, we have sinned times without number, and been guilty of pride and unbelief, and of neglect to seek you in our daily lives. Our
sins and shortcomings present us with a list of accusations, but we thank you that they will not stand against us, for all have been laid on Christ. Deliver us from every evil habit, every interest of former sins, everything that dims the brightness of your grace in us, everything that prevents us from taking delight in you. In the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We Silently Confess Our Sins

The Grace of God in Christ Joel 2:28-32
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.
“And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the LORD calls.

Song I’ve Found a Friend (CCLI#251645)

I've found a friend, O such a friend! Christ loved me ere I knew Him. He drew me with the cords of love, and thus he bound me to Him; And round my heart still closely twine
those ties which naught can sever, For I am His, and Christ is mine, Forever and forever.

I've found a friend, O such a friend! He bled, he died to save me; And not alone the gift of life, but His own self He gave me; Naught that I have my own I call, I hold it for the Giver; My heart, my strength, my life, my all are His, and His forever.

I've found a friend, O such a friend! All pow'r to Him is given, To guard me on my onward course, and bring me safe to heaven: Th'eternal glories gleam afar to nerve my faint endeavor; So now to watch, to work, to war, and then to rest forever.

I've found a friend, O such a friend! So kind and true and tender, So wise a counselor and guide, so mighty a defender! From Him who loves me now so well, what pow'r my soul can sever? Shall life or death or earth or hell? No, I am his forever.
