Prelude:
He's Always Been Faithful - New Words and Music by Sara Groves

Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

Morning by morning I wake up to find
The power and comfort of God's hand in mine.
Season by season I watch Him, amazed
In awe of the mystery of His perfect ways.
All I have need of, His hand will provide
He's always been faithful to me.

I can't remember a trial or a pain
He did not recycle to bring me gain.
I can't remember one single regret
In serving God only, and trusting His hand.
All I have need of, His hand will provide
He's always been faithful to me.

This is my anthem, this is my song
The theme of the stories I've heard for so long,
God has been faithful, He will be again
His loving compassion, it knows no end.
All I have need of, His hand will provide
He's always been faithful,
He's always been faithful,
He's always been faithful to me.

Call to Worship

O hear a call to worship, you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. For we know that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us into his presence.

Song     Before the Throne of God Above   (CCLI#251645)

Before the throne of God above, I have a strong and perfect plea,
A great High Priest whose name is Love, Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands, My name is written on His heart,
I know that while in heaven He stands, No tongue can bid me thence depart,
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair, And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died, My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me,
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there!  The risen Lamb, My perfect, spotless righteousness;
The great unchangeable I AM, The King of Glory and of Grace!
One with Himself I cannot die. My soul is purchased by His blood;
My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ my Savior and my God,
With Christ my Savior and my God.

One with Himself I cannot die. My soul is purchased by His blood;
My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ my Savior and my God,
With Christ my Savior and my God.

Prayer of Worship

Rejoice, heavenly choirs of angels. Rejoice, all creation around God's throne. Jesus Christ, our King, is risen! Sound the trumpet of salvation. Rejoice, O earth, in shining splendor, Radiant in the brightness of your King. Christ has conquered! Glory fills you! Darkness vanishes forever.  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we worship you this day and rejoice in the glorious hope that is ours in our Lord Jesus Christ. In his name we pray.  Amen.

We Confess Our Sin and Need

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.

Song    Hide Away    (CCLI#251645)

Come weary saints though tired and weak, Hide away in the love of Jesus.
Your strength will return by His quiet streams, Hide away in the love of Jesus.

Come wandering souls and find your home, Hide away in the love of Jesus.
He offers the rest that you yearn to know, Hide away in the love of Jesus.

Hear Him calling your name. See the depths of His love in ---
The wounds of His grace, hide away.

Come guilty ones weighed down with sin, Hide away in the love of Jesus.
The freedom you long for is found in Him, Hide away in the love of Jesus.

Hear Him calling your name. See the depths of His love in ---
The wounds of His grace, hide away. -------- Hide away. ------- Hide away. --------

Come hopeless hearts, do not despair, Hide away in the love of Jesus,
For ten thousand joys await you there, Hide away in the love of Jesus.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace John 20:24-29

Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.” Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Song Show Us Christ (CCLI#251645)

Prepare our hearts, O God, Help us to receive. Break the hard and stony ground,
Help our unbelief. Plant Your Word down deep in us, Cause it to bear fruit,
Open up our ears to hear, Lead us in Your truth.

Show us Christ, show us Christ, O God, reveal Your glory
Through the preaching of Your Word Until every heart confesses Christ is Lord.

Your Word is living light Upon our darkened eyes, Guards us through temptations,
Makes the simple wise. Your Word is food for famished ones, Freedom for the slave,
Riches for the needy soul, Come speak to us today.

Show us Christ, show us Christ, O God, reveal Your glory
Through the preaching of Your Word Until every heart confesses Christ is Lord.

Where else can we go, Lord, Where else can we go? You have the words of eternal life.
Where else can we go, Lord, Where else can we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Show us Christ, show us Christ, O God, reveal Your glory
Through the preaching of Your Word Until every heart confesses Christ is Lord.

Sermon Resurrection Joy and Peace

Song O for a Thousand

O for a thousand tongues to sing My great Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and King, The triumphs of His grace.
My gracious Master and my God, Assist me to proclaim,
To spread through all the earth abroad The honors of Your name.

O for a thousand! O for a thousand! O for a thousand! O for a thousand!
O for a thousand! O for a thousand! Tongues to sing.

The name of Jesus charms our fears, It bids our sorrows cease,
It’s music in the sinner’s ears; It’s life and health and peace.
He breaks the pow’r of reigning sin, He sets the pris’ner free.
His blood can make the foulest clean, His blood availed for me.

O for a thousand! O for a thousand! O for a thousand! O for a thousand!
O for a thousand! O for a thousand! Tongues to sing.

He speaks and listening to His voice, New life the dead receive;
The mournful broken hearts rejoice, The humble poor believe.
Hear Him you deaf, you voiceless ones, Your loosened tongues employ;
You blind, behold your Savior come, And leap, you lame, for joy!

O for a thousand! O for a thousand! O for a thousand! O for a thousand!
O for a thousand! O for a thousand! Tongues to sing.

Benediction

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.

Postlude
This is The Why
– Words and Music by Naomi Gabrielle Joyce

O my soul, what is this longing? O my soul, where is your home?
O my soul, why are you crying? Why are you striving for nothing at all?
O my Lord, what is the answer? O my Lord, why did You call me?
O my Lord, why did You come here? Why did You die, just to save us all?

CHORUS:

This is the answer, this is the why, Jesus He loves us, both you and I.
He died to Save us, Redeem us, and Raise us!
Raise us to heaven, to worship on High!

O my soul, why are you waiting? O my soul, whom do you seek?
O my soul, why aren’t you listening? Jesus is calling, He’s calling to you:
“I Am the answer, I Am the why, I Am your Savior, for you I died.
I came to Save you, Redeem you, and Raise you! Raise you to heaven, as My Holy Bride.

Not, “til’ death do us part,” Jesus’ death did life impart,
When He rose victoriously, Jesus set the captives Free!
Not, “til’ death do us part,” Jesus’ death did life impart,
When He died to save your soul, He gave you life and made you whole!

CHORUS:

This is the answer, this is the why, Jesus He loves us, both you and I!
He died to save us, Redeem us, and Raise us,
Raise us to heaven, to worship on High!

He is the answer, He is the why! He is our Savior, for us He died!
He came to Save us, Redeem us, and Raise us!
Raise us to heaven, as His Holy Bride!

O my soul, no more this longing.
O my soul, He is your home.
O my soul, no longer waiting.
Jesus is calling…He’s calling you home!

“Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.””

— Luke 24 : 45-47
