Trinity Presbyterian Church
Sunday Service of Worship

Welcome

Prelude
~God Calls Us to Worship Him~
Call to Worship
Psalm 92:1-2; 12-14

Pastor
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High;

Congregation
to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night,

Pastor
The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God.

Congregation
They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

All
Come and let us give thanks and sing praise to our God and declare his steadfast love and faithfulness as we worship.

Hymn Now Thank We All Our God (98)

Prayer of Worship
~God Renews Us in Christ~

We Corporately Confess Our Sin and Need
Heavenly Father, in whom we live and move and have our being, you gave your one and only Son to die in our place as the sacrifice for our guilt and sin. In raising Jesus from the grave, you shattered the power of sin and death. Almighty God, we acknowledge and confess that we have not fully consecrated ourselves to you in love, nor fully given ourselves in love to one another. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed; we have not loved you with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; we have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. Deepen within us our sorrow for the wrong we have done, and the good we have left undone. Lord, you are full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy; there is always forgiveness with you. Forgive our sins and restore to us the joy of your salvation; bind up that which is broken, give light to our minds, strength to our wills, and rest to our souls. Open the Scriptures to each of us, and let your word abide with us until it has accomplished in us your holy will. In the name of Christ Jesus our Risen Savior, Amen.

We Silently Confess Our Sins

Song Oh the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus (CCLI#251645)

Oh, the deep, deep love of Jesus, Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free,
Rolling as a mighty ocean, In its fullness over me,
Underneath me, all around me, Is the current of Your love,
Leading onward, leading homeward, To Your glorious rest above.

Chorus: Oh, the deep, deep love,
All I need and trust, Is the deep, deep love of Jesus.

Oh, the deep, deep love of Jesus,
Spread His praise from shore to shore,
How He came to pay our ransom, Through the saving cross He bore;
How He watches o’er His loved ones,
Those He died to make His own,
How for them He’s interceding,
Pleading now before the throne. Chorus

Oh, the deep, deep love of Jesus, Far surpassing all the rest,
It’s an ocean full of blessing, In the midst of every test.
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus, Mighty Savior, precious Friend,
You will bring us home to glory, Where Your love will never end. Chorus 2 x’s

God’s Grace in Christ John 15:1-17

~God Instructs Us with His Word~

Song: Show Us Christ

Prepare our hearts, O God, Help us to receive.
Break the hard and stony ground, Help our unbelief.
Plant Your Word down deep in us, Cause it to bear fruit,
Open up our ears to hear, Lead us in Your truth.

Chorus: Show us Christ, show us Christ,
O God, reveal Your glory Through the preaching of Your Word
Until every heart confesses Christ is Lord.

Your Word is living light Upon our darkened eyes,
Guards us through temptations, Makes the simple wise.
Your Word is food for famished ones, Freedom for the slave,
Riches for the needy soul, Come speak to us today. Chorus

Bridge: Where else can we go, Lord, Where else can we go?
You have the words of eternal life. Where else can we go, Lord?
Where else can we go? You have the words of eternal life. Chorus
