Prelude
~God Calls Us to Worship Him~
Call to Worship
Luke 1:68-75
Pastor
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old, that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us;
Congregation
to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant, the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.
All
Amen!  Let us worship God.

Song    Rejoice           (CCLI#251645)

All the earth rejoice, your Creator reigns, As the only awesome God,
The Alpha and the Omega, Who was, is, and is to come.
Let the oceans roar and the mountains sing,
He provides for all He has made,
So be comforted as He rules with grace. Rejoice, all the earth, rejoice!

All the world rejoice, for the baby comes
As a humble prince in the night.
The Word made flesh, Emmanuel, The Everlasting Light.
Let the warmth of heav’n reach the coldest heart
With the gospel of His grace,
For His heel will bruise the serpent’s head.
Rejoice, all the world, rejoice!

All the church rejoice, for your King returns
On a white horse wearing a crown.
He will break the sky with the angel’s shout,
Descending from the clouds.
Then the dead will rise from the land and sea,
All His people will ascend. We will reign with Him for eternity.
Rejoice, all the church, rejoice!

Then the dead will rise from the land and sea,
All His people will ascend. We will reign with Him for eternity.
Rejoice, all the church, rejoice!

Then the dead will rise from the land and sea,
All His people will ascend. We will reign with Him for eternity.
Rejoice, all the church, rejoice! Rejoice, all the church, rejoice!

Prayer of Worship

~God Renews Us in Christ~

We Corporately Confess Our Sin and Need
Almighty God, you have remembered your covenant mercy to us through Jesus. You came to redeem us from all our sins and to set us free to serve you all our days. But instead, we have chosen our own way, followed our own paths, walked according to our own counsel. Forgive us, O God. Do not cast us away, but rather remember the mercy that you promised to our fathers and to us. Grant us grace to rest in your promises and to live out of obedient gratitude before you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

We Silently Confess Our Sins and Need

Song    A Christian’s Daily Prayer         (CCLI#251645)

As morning dawns and day awakes,
To You, I bring my need O gracious God,
My source of strength, in You I live and breathe.
Each hour is Yours by wisdom planned,
Each deed empowered by sovereign hands.
Renew my spirit, help me stand, be glorified today.

As day unfolds, I seek Your will in all of life’s demands.
And though the tempter tries me still, I cling to Your commands.
Let every effort of my life, Display the matchless worth of Christ.
Make me a living sacrifice; be glorified today.

As sun gives way to darkest night, Your Spirit still is here.
And though my strength fades like the light, new mercies will appear.
I rest in You; abide with me Until our trials and suffering
Give way to final victory; be glorified, today.
I rest in You; abide with me Until our trials and suffering
Give way to final victory; be glorified, today. Be glorified, I pray.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace    1 Peter 2:4-8

We Confess Our Faith    Belgic Confession Article XX
We believe that God, who is perfectly merciful and just, sent His Son to assume our human nature in which the disobedience was committed, to make satisfaction in the same, and to bear the punishment of sin by His most bitter passion and death. God therefore manifested His justice against His Son when He laid our iniquities upon Him, and poured forth His mercy and goodness on us, who were guilty and worthy of damnation, out of mere and perfect love, giving His Son unto death for us, and raising Him for our justification, that through Him we might obtain immortality and life eternal.
