Trinity Presbyterian Church
Sunday Service of Worship

Welcome

Prelude

~God Calls Us to Worship Him~

Call to Worship

Pastor

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with

God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of

a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

Congregation

And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming

obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Pastor

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name

that is above every name,

Congregation

so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on

earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ

is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Song All Hail the Glorious Christ (CCLI#251645)

Above the earth and heaven’s angels, | Over kings and all their plans,

When every rival throne has fallen, | You will stand, You will stand.

Chorus:

All hail the glorious Christ, | Oh, praise the Lord of Life.

For by Your sacrifice, | You won the victory.

Now over all You reign, | You overwhelmed the grave.

And rose again on high, | All hail the glorious Christ.

Above our hearts and our temptations, | Your great love has overcome.

Defeating death and condemnation, |You have won, You have won.

Chorus

And on that day upon Your mountain,

You will gather Your redeemed.

And we will feast and give all glory | To the King, to the King.

Chorus

Now over all You reign, | You overwhelmed the grave.

And rose again on high, | All hail the glorious Christ.

~God Renews Us in Christ~

We Corporately Confess Our Sin and Need

Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being, whose

face is hidden from us by our sins, and whose mercy we forget in the

blindness of our hearts: cleanse us from all our offenses, and deliver

us from proud thoughts and vain desires, that with reverent and

humble hearts we may draw near to you, confessing our sins, trusting

in your grace, and finding in you our refuge and strength; through

Jesus Christ your Son Amen.

We Silently Confess Our Sins

Song Psalm 51 (CCLI#251645)

Oh have mercy God, according to Your steadfast love,

According to the richness of, Your tenderness and grace.

Wash me thoroughly from all of my iniquity,

Lord, take all of this sin from me, for against You I am wrong.

Chorus Let these bones that You have broken rejoice, rejoice!

Let me hear in joy and gladness Your voice, Your voice!

Create in me a clean heart, God, renew Your spirit in me, God,

Cast me not away, O God, restore to me Your joy.

Create in me a clean heart, God, renew Your spirit in me, God,

Cast me not away, O God, restore to me Your joy.

Lord my sins, I know. They seem to all before me go.

From me does not but evil flow, I can't escape the curse.

So You are justified, and blameless Lord if you decide,

To judge me in my haughty pride, for I was born in sin. Chorus

But you shall wash me clean, whiter than the snow I'll be.

From bloody hand's to purity, from darkness into light.

So I'll lift up my eyes, and praise You with a heart contrite.

In me again You will delight, so open up my lips! Chorus

God’s Grace in Christ Galatians 4:1-7

Hymn: Thy Works, Not Mine, O Christ (524)

We Confess Our Faith Heidelberg Catechism Q’s 29 & 31

Pastor

Why is the Son of God called Jesus, that is, Saviour?

Congregation

Because He saves us from all our sins, and because salvation is not to be

sought or found in anyone else.

Pastor

Why is He called Christ, that is, Anointed?

Congregation

Because He has been ordained by God the Father, and anointed with the

Holy Spirit, to be our chief Prophet and Teacher, who has fully revealed to

us the secret counsel and will of God concerning our redemption; our only

High Priest, who by the one sacrifice of His body has redeemed us, and who

continually intercedes for us before the Father; and our eternal King, who

governs us by His Word and Spirit, and who defends and preserves us in the

redemption obtained for us.

Pastor

What command and mission has Christ given to us until he returns?

therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the

name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching

them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

What promise has Christ given to empower us as we go?

Congregation

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
