Trinity Presbyterian Church
Sunday Service of Worship

Welcome

Prelude
~God Calls Us to Worship Him~
Call to Worship
Zephaniah 3:14-17

Pastor

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has

blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly

places,

Congregation

even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we

should be holy and blameless before him.

Pastor

In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through

Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,

Congregation

to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the

Beloved.

All

Let us worship the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who, in

love and grace, has drawn us to Himself in Christ.

Song How Deep the Father’s Love for Us (CCLI#251645)

How deep the Father's love for us; | How vast beyond all measure.

That He should give His only Son, | To make a wretch His treasure.

How great the pain of searing loss; | The Father turns His face away.

As wounds which mar the Chosen One, | Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the man upon a cross, | My sin upon His shoulders.

Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice | Call out among the scoffers.

It was my sin that held Him there, | Until it was accomplished.

His dying breath has brought me life; | I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything; | No gifts, no power, no wisdom.

But I will boast in Jesus Christ; | His death and resurrection.

Why should I gain from His reward? | I cannot give an answer.

But this I know with all my heart. | His wounds have paid my ransom.

Why should I gain from His reward? | I cannot give an answer.

But this I know with all my heart. | His wounds have paid my ransom.

Prayer of Worship

~God Renews Us in Christ~

We Corporately Confess Our Sin and Need

We long for wisdom, O Lord, but prefer that it be our own. We turn

away from You and the means of Your grace found in the reading of

Scripture, prayer, and the fellowship of believers. Forgive us, loving

God. Bring an end to the self-righteousness that ignores You and

awaken us anew to the wisdom that comes only from You. May Your

Spirit show us how to walk in Your ways and listen to and rely upon

Your promise each and every day. Amen

We Silently Confess Our Sins

Song Spirit of God (CCLI#251645)

The blessing of the Father, | Gift of grace and love.

The promise of the Savior | For power from above.

Oh, wondrous gift that’s given, | For confidence and mission,

Holy Spirit, You make all things new.

Chorus: Spirit of God, | breathe on me now.

Source of life, come, revive my weary heart.

Spirit of God, | shine on me now.

Light of life, come, ignite my longing heart.

Come and lift the dark clouds | Of doubt and unbelief.

Shine upon my soul now, | For by Your rays I see,

Clearer, closer, deeper, | The love of my Redeemer.

Holy Spirit, You make all things new Chorus

Bridge:

Where You breathe hope thrives, | The dead return to life.

And the dark must flee | the breaking day.

By Your light I see | the glory of my King.

Beholding Him I will be changed. Chorus

God’s Grace in Christ 2 Peter 3:10-14

We Confess our Faith Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived

by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under

Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into

hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into

heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father

Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion

of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the

life everlasting. Amen. (*universal)
